There are a lot of different hitches and anti sway systems out there, but after towing trailers for 50 years, we decided to stay with what we knew. We have upgraded to the latest Equl-i-zer 4-point sway system which no longer includes the infamous friction anti sway bar, something that is a very positive upgrade from the older systems. This hitch system is very easy to hook up if you have a electric tongue jack, if not you in for considerable twisting of the jack extension crank. No more frame saddles and chain bars or sway bars to hook up, just the two torsion bars and the ball lock. Simple, easy, and fast!!!

As of April 2026, we have over 6000 miles on our trailer now, including everything from gravel roads to smooth interstate highways, and this new system is the most comfortable towing experience we have ever had. Another HUGE addition is a Trimax THC250 anti-rattle receiver shank clamp which eliminates the free play between the hitch shank and the receiver on the truck. The term "solid as a rock" is now a reality with our hitch/trailer system, and we are extremely happy with our setup.
